Clinica Médica Internacional SANDALF is a private medical out-patient clinic offering specialist medical treatment for orthopaedic surgery problems (bones, joints, tendons...), injuries and accidents (fractures, sprains, cuts, wounds...) as well as physiotherapy. We also offer close cooperation with other medical consultants including an eye specialist, an ear nose and throat specialist, a gynaecologist, a urologist and a general surgeon, of which some even use our facilities to see their patients. The clinic facilities include two treatment rooms, a plaster room, a fully equipped physiotherapy gym, a small operating theatre, as well as modern diagnostic equipment including a fully licensed X-ray machine, diagnostic ultrasound and a bone density scanner.

Orthopaedic surgery covers a wide range of problems including back and neck pain (e.g. sciatica, whiplash), specific joint diseases including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis and gout, as well as other joint problems such as bunions and hammer toes. But orthopaedic surgery also treats problems which involve the soft tissue such as carpal tunnel syndrome, Dupuytren's disease, tennis elbow, tendonitis and the list goes on!

Our orthopaedic surgeon, Mr. Alf Neuhaus, performs the smaller out-patient operations in Clinica SANDALF. More sophisticated operations such as hand surgery, joint (hip, knee, ankle, shoulder) replacements - if appropriate performed as minimal invasive surgery -, keyhole surgery / arthroscopies, cartilage repair and hip joint resurfacing (type Birmingham hip) procedures are performed in a private hospital either in Torremolinos or Marbella. While in hospital you are looked after by the Clinica SANDALF team with daily visits from the consultant and the physiotherapist thereby eliminating most language difficulties faced if you do not speak Spanish. Should you be listed on a long waiting list in the UK to have a joint replacement done, Clinica SANDALF might be able to help you to have the surgery performed within a couple of weeks. And in case that your surgery is not covered by a private insurance, Clinica SANDALF can offer some options for financing.

The UK chartered physiotherapist, Sandra Vincenti, treats acute problems like soft tissue or joint injuries or back pain as well as taking care of post-operative physiotherapy treatment and chronic problems like old sport injuries. She is also trained in lymph drainage. The fully equipped physiotherapy department of Clinica SANDALF does help to treat these and other problems with success.

Clinica SANDALF is situated near Malaga, in the very south of Spain, on the beautiful Costa del Sol famous for its average 300 days of sunshine a year, for its beaches and, of course, for its golf courses (Costa del Golf). You will find Clinica SANDALF about 10 miles to the west of Malaga, the capital of Andalusia, in Arroyo de la Miel. Arroyo de la Miel is part of Benalmádena, famous for having one of Spain's most impressive ports known as Puerto Marina. Benalmádena lies between Torremolinos and Fuengirola, which are also popular tourist destinations, and only about 10 minutes from the Malaga airport.
