Keyhole
surgery, or ‘arthroscopy’, is a minimally invasive form of
surgery with a maximum of 2 or 3 holes being made to access a
joint. This means that
not only
hospital
stay is
reduced to
usually only one day,
but also the risc for infection or thrombosis! |

The knee is the most common joint for this procedure and allows the surgeon to repair structures including the meniscus or the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), or just to wash the knee out of any debris that may be irritating the knee. |

Shoulder
keyhole surgery is also a wonderful breakthrough! The infamous rotator
cuff injury can now be repaired using this procedure in most cases
thereby significantly reducing the recovery time ! All
follow-ups are done at Clinica SANDALF and our
physiotherapist will help
you regain full use of your limb as quickly as possible. Most
people are back to work within a very short period of time!
If the waiting list is too long for you at home and you would like to come to the
Costa del Sol to have key hole surgery done, we can arrange everything
for you. This would include pick-up from the airport to take
you to the hospital, pre-operative consultation, the operation, hospital stay and
- if needed- physiotherapy, and then an
apartment or hotel after leaving hospital while you continue your
physiotherapy and prepare yourself to get back home. Return to your
home country depends on your recovery, but is on average between 10 to 14
days! |
